How does My Editing Co. edit?
Here at My Editing Co. we edit according to a simple goal: polishing and improving your writing to make sure that your ideas and thoughts are expressed as clearly and elegantly as possible. To do this we concentrate on your wording and structure, rewording and reorganising your sentences and paragraphs to make them as eloquent and expressive as possible. While doing this, we also make sure your entire document is free of typographical, spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, and is composed using consistent and communicative formatting and referencing styles. We also make sure that your tense and terminology are consistent throughout. We edit, in other words, to make sure that you’re understood. Want to know more?
How do I submit a document to My Editing Co.?
To get a document edited, simply click on the ‘Get Started!’ button. Once you’ve done that, we’ll either ask you to login (if you’ve previously used our services) or provide a few simple details to register with us. We’ll then ask you to upload your document to our website. We then conduct a quick word count of the document. We’ll then ask a couple of questions about your document (e.g., what turn around time you would like) and your editing requirements, and take you to our secure payment processing facility with PayPal. That’s it – that’s all you need to do! Want to know more?
Do I need to calculate the word count of my document?
No! As soon as you upload your document to our site, we’ll automatically conduct a word count. We use the results of this word count (and your requested turnaround time) to calculate the fee for editing your document. This means that if there are sections in the document that you don’t want us to edit, you should take them out beforehand.
What if my document is in more than one file?
We can only process one document at a time. This means that if your document is in two (or more) files, you should either combine them into a single file before you submit it to us, or submit it as two (or more) separate documents.
What if my document isn’t in MS Word?
Our system supports Word (1997-2007), Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text formats. If you’ve composed your document in a word processor other than MS Word, simply save it in your word processor in the RTF format before uploading it to our system.
How do I pay for editing and is it secure?
To process your payment we use the highly secure Website Payments system provided by PayPal. As PayPal processes all of your payment information on its secure servers, none of your private financial details will be kept or seen here at My Editing Co.
How do I pick up my edited document?
Once your document has been edited you will receive an email letting you know that the final versions of your document are available. To access them, simply click on the link contained within the email to get to the My Editing Co. login page, and enter your login and password. The final versions of your document will be available on the My Documents section of our site.
What will I get back after the editing is complete?
We will return two versions of the edited document to you. The first is the ‘Edited’ version, which is the final version of your document and is ready for printing out. The second is the ‘Advice’ version, which shows all the changes made to your original document and includes a short letter describing those changes.
What happens to my document after I’ve picked it up?
Once the edited versions of your document are available, you have 28 days to download them from the website. After that, all three documents (your original submission, the advice document and the edited document) will be deleted from our servers.
How long do I have to download the final versions?
Your document – and the two edited versions – will be kept on our site for 28 days after your deadline has passed. Please make sure you have downloaded the final versions before the end of this period, as we cannot hold the documents beyond this time.
What do I do if I am not happy with the edited document?
The vast majority of our clients are happy with the editing we provide – but if you’re one of the few that aren’t, please contact us immediately. We’ll be happy to re-edit your document until you are satisfied with the outcome.
Can you help me with particular formatting and referencing styles?
Yes! Here at My Editing Co. we’re familiar with a range of commonly used referencing and formatting styles, such as APA, MLA and Harvard. Meanwhile, if your school, department, university or publisher wants your document to conform to a list of rules, just put those in the ‘Other information’ box when you submit your document and we’ll be happy to edit according to those guidelines.
Will My Editing Co. help me to get a good mark at school/university?
We’re here at My Editing Co. to help you to express your ideas. This means that we can make sure that your document is written in correct and eloquent English, has no spelling or grammatical mistakes, and reads smoothly and coherently. This may well translate into better marks for you at school or university. However, as we at My Editing Co. will not change your ideas or conduct research for you, we cannot guarantee you a higher mark – basically, if you’ve missed the point in the essay or conducted inadequate research, there is little we can do to help. Do you write essays for people?
No. My Editing Co. is an editing service, not a writing service. The content of your document is your responsibility. My Editing Co. does not endorse any process by which an essay submitted to an institution is written or researched by another individual. Quite simply, our editors will never change the content or intent of your document, or the facts contained within.
Does it matter where I am in the world?
As long as you have access to a computer with an internet connection and have an email address, you can use My Editing Co. It doesn’t matter where you’re located in the world – we can help to make sure that you’re understood.
Does it matter when I submit my document?
We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Because our editors work from locations spread throughout the globe, we’re always here, ready to edit for you.
