We’re looking for intelligent and conscientious individuals with an appreciation of exemplary use of the English language to edit for MyEditing Co.

About us

We’re an online editing business. We rapidly edit a variety of documents – student essays and theses, job applications and advanced research papers – to an outstanding level of quality and for a reasonable price. You can find out more about how we operate from the pages of our site that cater specifically to our customers (Information), but basically, our customers submit documents for editing to our website, and these become available for our editors to select, edit and then return to the customer, all via the site. Our editors, of course, are the backbone of our operation.

The key to our system lies in the fact that we know our editors are the people best placed to decide what is required to make a document better, to decide when they want to work, and to decide which jobs and time frames are best for them. Because information about all of the available documents that customers have submitted to us can be viewed by all of the available editors, then our editors are able to decide what work best suits them. Those who are most interested in science topics (for example) can choose documents that have science themes; those who want short jobs to fill in an empty hour can choose those; those who relish the challenge of a lengthy novel or thesis can sign up for that. Basically, our editors are completely in control of when they work, and what documents they work on.

How much our editors are paid

Along with the deadline and the topic, every available document shows the exact amount you’d earn for editing that document. Longer documents – and those with a faster turn around time – pay more. Because we have quite a broad pricing schedule, there’s not much point listing here what you’d earn for each document, but a couple of examples should help. For a 3000 word essay with a 24 hour turn around, you’d be paid US$62; for a 6000 word essay with a 3 day turn around, you’d be paid US$161; for a 50,000 word document with a one week turn around, you’d be paid US$508. Aside from your tax responsibilities – which are your own, so check with the tax office in your country – it’s as simple as that.

Who can apply

Here at My Editing Co., we know that lots of people have exactly the skills we’re looking for: intelligence and conscientiousness, and an eye for excellent use of the English language. Some of our editors have editing qualifications; others have post-graduate teaching and writing experience. There are also some who might not have either of these exact qualifications, but after a lifetime of reading and writing know exactly what an excellent sentence is. Regardless of your particular qualifications, we’re keen to hear from you. All we ask is that you are able to demonstrate to us why you’d make an excellent editor, that you have easy access to the internet and MS Word, and that you have a PayPal account so that we can pay you (these are free and easy to get, just have a look at www.paypal.com). That’s it, as simple as that.

If we think you’d make a first class editor, we’ll ask you to edit a sample document, which we’ll assess. If you’re successful, we’ll start you editing as soon as possible.
